Foursquare Partners with Visa and MasterCard to Offer Check-In Deals

Foursquare Partners with Visa, MasterCardTwo years ago, American Express and social networking site Foursquare began a partnership that let Amex cardholders check in and receive instant discounts at select merchants. Today, Foursquare has announced that it is expanding this program to Visa and MasterCard credit and debit cards.

This credit card specials program will work continue to work as it has with Amex. Users can find specials through Foursquare’s Explore tab or when they check-in to a merchant that is offering a deal. Once the user has linked their card to their Foursquare account, they can click to redeem the offer, then pay with their linked card as they normally would–without the need of a coupon or voucher. The discount is then automatically credited on a future statement.

Initial deal: $1 back for spending $10 at Burger King
Foursquare members can begin taking advantage of this new partnership at the pilot partner merchant, Burger King, which is offering $1 credited back to your account when you spend $10 on your linked card.

Foursquare users can connect their Visa or MasterCard cards now in their iOS or Android app settings or on the web at this link.

Amex Sync: Get $5 back after spending $20 at an AMC theater
Amex cardmembers can continue to redeem specials as well through the Amex Sync program. For instance, AMC theaters is currently offering $5 back after checking in and spending $20 on your synced Amex. To sync your Amex with Foursquare, visit this link.
