Back to School Offers from Citi
Thursday, August 21st, 2008To mark the beginning of the school year, we have a couple of exclusive new student card offers from Citi. For a limited time through the following links, both the Citi® mtvUTM Platinum Select® Visa® Card for College Students and the Citi® Dividend Platinum Select® Visa® Card for College Students will offer double the normal points and cash back during their first 3 months. This means that college students approved for these offers will receive 10 reward points per dollar at qualifying merchants for the first three months for the mtvU card and 10% cash back on everyday purchases for the Dividend card during the intro period. This offer is valid only for college students who apply by September 30, 2008.
Both cards offer an intro 0% rate on both purchases and balance transfers for the first 6 months, though the newly introduced balance transfer fee (3% with a $5 min and no max) makes BTs largely unattractive.
Even beyond the intro period, the Citi® mtvUTM Platinum Select® Visa® Card for College Students offers a unique value proposition. It is the only card available to offer 5% (in the form of 5 ThankYou points per dollar spent) at restaurants, bookstores, record stores, movie theaters and video rental stores. And for those who are wondering, you can keep the card even after you graduate, where it’s likely the bonus points at restaurants will become even more appealing.
